The 2023 Formula One Lineup

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

As the 2023 season approaches, let’s take a look at how the drivers and teams will line up for this next season of Formula One!

Red Bull Racing:

Red Bull Racing is running with the exact same lineup as last year, but as the saying goes; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Team Principal: Christian Horner

Drivers: Max Verstappen [No.01] and Sergio Perez [No.11]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Liam Lawson, Dennis Hauger, Zane Maloney

3rd Driver: Daniel Ricciardo

Scuderia Ferrari:

Much like Red Bull, Ferrari had no need to change their driver lineup. They did however have a change in team principal!

Team Principal: Frédérick Vasseur

Drivers: Charles Leclerc [No.16] and Carlos Sainz Jr. [No.55]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Antonio Giovinazzi, Robert Shwartzman, Antonio Fuoco, Davide Rigon

Mercedes AMG Petronas F1:

Like the rest of the top teams, they kept with the same lineup. I mean if I had a team composed of Toto Wolff, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell, I wouldn’t change it either!

Team Principal: Toto Wolff

Drivers: Lewis Hamilton [No.44] and George Russell [No.63]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Mick Schumacher, Frederik Vesti

Alpine:

After a quite eventful summer break for Alpine, they had quite the situation to try and figure out for the 2023 season.

Team Principal: Otmar Szafneur

Drivers: Esteban Ocon [No.31] and Pierre Gasly [No.10]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Jack Doohan

McLaren F1:

After the very public termination of Daniel Ricciardo’s contract, McLaren had to replace a couple roles in their team.

Team Principal: Andrea Stella

Drivers: Lando Norris [No.04] and Oscar Piastri [No.81]*

Reserve/Development Drivers: Alex Palou, Mick Schumacher

Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN:

Both drivers performed incredibly well in their first season with Alfa Romeo and have been given another year to prove their worth.

Team Principal: To Be Confirmed

Drivers: Valtteri Bottas [No.77] and Zhou Guanyu [No.24]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Robert Kubica and Theo Pourchaire

Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team:

With Sebastian Vettel retiring, it was only natural that Aston Martin would have to replace him. Although Lance Stroll has remained a constant on his dad’s team.

Team Principal: Mike Krack

Drivers: Lance Stroll [No.18] and Fernando Alonso [No.14]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Felipe Drugovich, Stoffel Vandoorne

Moneygram Haas F1:

With a new brand name, comes a new driver. If you can call him new, that is!

Team Principal: Guenther Steiner

Drivers: Kevin Magnussen [No.20] and Nico Hulkenberg [No.27]

Reserve/Development Drivers: Pietro Fittipaldi

Scuderia AlphaTauri:

Surprised to see AlphaTauri all the way down here? So are we!

Team Principal: Franz Tost

Drivers: Yuki Tsunoda [No.22] and Nyck de Vries [No.21]*

Reserve/Development Drivers: Liam Lawson, Dennis Hauger, Zane Maloney

Williams Racing:

Unfortunately, the lack of results from Nicholas Latifi resulted in him not getting a contract extension.

Team Principal: James Vowles

Drivers: Alexander Albon [No.23] and Logan Sargeant [No.02]*

Reserve/Development Drivers: Jamie Chadwick

*- Rookie for the 2023 season
