Meet the 2023 Rookies: Logan Sargeant

The second rookie I will be writing about is none other than the Florida born Logan Sargeant. Logan Sargeant was born December 31, 2000 in Fort Lauderdale Florida. He is the newest American F1 driver, the most recent one being Alexander Rossi, who only raced four times back in 2015.

Sargeant began carting in the US in 2008 and eventually moved to Europe to further his racing career. 2016 was when he began racing in junior formula series, competing in the winter series; Formula 4 UAE Championship. He scored 15 podiums out of the 18 races, but did not manage to win a race after finishing third in Formula 3 in 2020 do you logical step was to try and make the move up the Formula 2 however due to unknown financial reasons he had to remain in Formula 3 for another season he finished the 2021 season in seventh place, but was given the opportunity to race in the penultimate round of that year’s Formula 2 season.

In 2022 he made the move up to a full-time F to seat. He began to gain recognition after he became the first American driver to win an F2 race after he won the feature race at Silverstone.

After Williams made the decision not to resign Nicholas Latifi, they announced that if Sargeant could obtain the necessary super license points, and he would take the available William seat. He managed to score the necessary points, and in doing so cemented his seat for the 2023 season.

It will be very interesting to see what he’s able to accomplish on the Williams, especially considering how well Alex Albon performed last year in relation to Latifi’s, even though the car was less than ideal for the both of them
