During the W Series event at the Marina Bay Circuit during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, it was confirmed that a business who had a contracted investment with W Series had broken the contract, with W Series never having received the funding. W Series had to make a tough decision and cancel the final three races of the 2022 season.
W Series was set to race at The Circuit of the Americas and then feature a double header in Mexico City. Unfortunately, W Series has stated that they need to focus on more long term fundraising in order to continue racing in 2023 and beyond.
Due to the final races being canceled, Jamie Chadwick has clinched her third W Series title, having been leading the championship standings by 50 points ahead of her closest title rivals, Alice Powell and Beitske Visser.
It is an unfortunate end to the season, but all the best of luck to all of the drivers. Hopefully W Series will be able to continue in 2023!
